Place2Be exist to build children's resilience early in life through counselling, creative work, play and support in order to develop every child’s ability to engage in school life.
In 2022, Place2be provided in-school mental health services or training to 300,000 pupils, working directly with over 500 schools UK wide.
Place2Be's mental health professionals use an integrative therapeutic approach backed by research that brings together different strands of therapeutic thinking to support the development of each child and young person. This model is person-centred, psychoanalytic, systemic and draws on cognitive behavioural theories.
Through their professional development programme, they train c1000 Counsellors on Placement each year to build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in their partner schools. They provide a range of professional development programmes on mental health and well-being for school leaders, teachers and other trusted adults who work with children and young people, so they can help build ‘mentally healthy’ schools and communities where all children can thrive and flourish.
Day in, day out, they support children and those who teach them to better navigate an increasingly complex world, and, ultimately, realise their potential.
As part of their continued evolution, they are seeking a new Clinical Director, who will be responsible for clinical leadership, quality assurance and continuous improvement of all Place2Be services.
This role will ensure that Place2Be's interventions are leading edge and informed by findings of the latest research, both nationally and internationally. The Clinical Director will work closely with the Directors of Operations, Mental Health Workforce Development and Head of Evaluation to ensure consistency in clinical thinking and application of Place2Be's clinical model across all services and training. As a key spokesperson for the organisation, you will actively work to disseminate learning, maintaining Place2Be’s position as an industry leader and make the case for investment in children and young people’s mental health and effective early intervention.
As an organisation that is committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusivity Place2Be welcomes applications from all backgrounds, and especially encourages applications from under-represented groups.
