About The Role

As Philanthropy & Special Events Officer at Place2Be, you will play a significant part in the Philanthropy & Special Events team, in a busy and varied role. This small but dynamic team consists of a Head of Philanthropy, Special Events and Individual Giving, a Philanthropy and Special Events Manager and an Individual Giving Manager.

This new role has been introduced so we can continue to deliver excellent supporter care and relationship management to a growing portfolio of Mid and Major Donors. The role is split between supporting the relationship management of mid and high net worth prospects and donors (cultivation and stewardship) and event administration and delivery, including bespoke cultivation opportunities for donors and events with schools. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent communication, organisation and writing skills. To be successful as a Philanthropy & Special Events Officer, you will have a passion and interest in people, be eager to learn about philanthropy fundraising, and ideally have previous fundraising experience or experience working with high net worth audiences.


What will I be responsible for in my new role?
 
Main responsibilities:

  • with the support of the Philanthropy and Special Events Manager, help deliver excellent stewardship and engagement opportunities across the Philanthropy portfolio
  • with the support of the Philanthropy and Special Events Manager manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, delivering first class stewardship to increase engagement, value and longevity of donors’ support
  • provide excellent administration and organisational skills to support the delivery of successful special events throughout the year
  • act as a database (ThankQ) “Champion” working to ensure that all information is up to date and all team members are confident and competent users

About You

The successful candidate, you will have

  • demonstrable experience of working in a philanthropy or fundraising role, or relevant experience/ transferable skills
  • proven track record of effective administrative work
  • experience of engaging effectively with a range of audiences and building excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • experience of working with in-house database systems

Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert professional development to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families, teachers and school staff. Place2Be provides mental health support and training for over 600 primary and secondary schools, reaching a total school population of over 350,000 pupils.
 
Our teams provide a range of services in our partner schools to build resilience early in life through counselling, creative work and play and support a child’s ability to engage in school life.  Our work, focused on early intervention, is part of the ‘comprehensive CAMHS system’.  
 
Through our professional development programme, we are training c1200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools.
