Place2Be are now recruiting for an IT Programme Manager who will report to the Head of Technology and working closely with key stakeholders. As the IT Programme Manager, you will have responsibility for the £4m programme and management of various strategic enterprise level IT Projects and be comfortable operating with director-level stakeholders.

Place2Be wants its projects to be business-led so you will be working closely with Designated Senior Leaders from the Place2Be teams who would Project Manage their key systems implementation with their roles backfilled. The Programme Managers’ focus would be on instilling a Project Management discipline to the individual projects, managing interdependencies (scheduling and resourcing) between different projects, organising resources to support project from different areas of Place2Be and produce regular reporting to Exec and Trustee Level.

As the successful candidate, you will have strong programme and project management disciplines and experience which can be employed to run projects along ‘best practice’ lines and managing the project support officer Experience of both waterfall and Agile project management methodologies is required.

 

What will I be responsible for, you will:

  • deliver complex programmes with multiple business and technical risks that will impact the success of key Place2Be business priorities
  • create and track a plan to deliver the programme goals, including the technical implementation plan, ensuring colleagues and stakeholders from across Place2Be are kept up-to-date
  • track, manage and report on the Infrastructure Development Project Budget allocated to IT (£3M)
  • mentor, coach and teach where require the Project Managers and key stakeholders regarding Project Management Practise
  • shape projects with ambiguous scope and uncertain delivery approach
  • be able to foresee potential risks and issues, establish a process, facilitate discussion and manage escalations

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or other industry standard Programme or Project Management qualification
  • a proven record of accomplishment in delivering technology having done so across multiple teams in multiple geographies
  • strong Project, Stakeholder & Programme management skills
  • exceptional reporting skills for programs and financial forecasting
  • proven experience delivering multiple complex IT projects with budgets over £500,000 covering  IT business systems and digital platforms implementation within agreed timescales and budget
  • experience delivering IT projects that utilise Cloud based services
  • previous experience of building credible relationships and influencing senior management & leadership teams

Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert professional development to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families, teachers and school staff. Place2Be provides mental health support and training for over 600 primary and secondary schools, reaching a total school population of over 350,000 pupils.
 
Our teams provide a range of services in our partner schools to build resilience early in life through counselling, creative work and play and support a child’s ability to engage in school life.  Our work, focused on early intervention, is part of the ‘comprehensive CAMHS system’.  
 
Through our professional development programme, we are training c1200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools.
